“Cavaliers forward and 2017 NBA All-Star Kevin Love underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a loose body from his left knee this morning at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The procedure was performed by Dr. David Altchek with Dr. James Rosneck of the Cleveland Clinic present.”
This news follows comments made by head coach Tyronn Lue Monday that he was “definitely concerned” about Love’s sore knee (more on that here).
It also complicates matters for the Cavs as it concerns any potential trade that could involved Love, who has been linked to the New York Knicks of late regarding a potential deal that would ship Carmelo Anthony to Cleveland.
Averaging 20.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and nearly one steal per game, Love has had his best season with the Cavaliers since being traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The six-week timeline means he should be available to play near the end of March or beginning of April.
