As Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore inch closer to getting control of the Minnesota Timberwolves a new NBA rumor claims the greatest player in franchise history could soon be added to the team’s front office.
The ongoing saga for control of the Minnesota Timberwolves has been one of the biggest stories in Minny sports over the last few years. In 2023 it looked like the MLB legend and the billionaire investor were set to be the franchise’s new majority owners. However, after an issue with their final payment, current owner Glen Taylor seemingly scrapped the deal.

The battle for control of the club was taken to arbitration last year. Earlier this month a leaked report from the hearing claimed that the final ruling was in favor of Rodriguez and his very wealthy business partner. With the drama over who will be the Timberwolves’ majority owner in the years ahead, some information has emerged on what Rodriguez and Lore have planned for the team.
On Monday, a new rumor revealed a planned addition to Minnesota’s front office that will excite long-time Wolves fans.
Kevin Garnett to join Minnesota Timberwolves front office soon?

“A little birdie says Kevin Garnett will become part of the Timberwolves front office as soon as it’s official that Lore and Rodriguez get ownership,” St. Paul Pioneer Press reporter Charley Walters revealed this week.
Garnett is the greatest player in Minnesota Timberwolves history. Over 14 seasons in Minny, the NBA hall-of-famer was an All-Star 10 times. And won the NBA MVP award in the 2003-2004 season. He brought the franchise to a level of relevancy it had never seen before he arrived.

He would eventually depart the team and have a legendary run with the Boston Celtics. Where he won his lone NBA title. However, he never stopped loving the Minnesota organization. And returned to the Timberwolves for his final two seasons in the league. Since retiring in 2016, he has become a popular podcaster with former Boston teammate Paul Pierce.
It is unclear what his specific role in the front office will be if he is hired.
