In America, football is king above all other sports. This is seen clearly in television ratings across college football and the NFL.
But perhaps never has this phrase been more salient than Saturday when Kent State administration declared a “no contest” ahead of the second overtime period of the school’s field hockey game against Maine.
The University of Maine’s Field Hockey Twitter account shared that the school called off the field hockey game so that its football game against Kennesaw State could start on time.
That’s harsh.
