The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback situation was among the biggest storylines in Western New York heading into the team’s preseason opener Thursday evening against the Carolina Panthers.
Three quarterbacks are vying for the starting job in what can’t be deemed as an ideal scenario for the squad.
Getting the start in the opener, second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman showed vast improvement over his rookie campaign. He completed 9-of-10 passes for 119 yards with a touchdown and an interception. It included this precision strike to Kelvin Benjamin.
Having entered Thursday’s game with some major drama taking place between himself and former teammate Cam Newton, the two were seen exchanging pleasantries prior to taking on one another (watch here).
It stems from Benjamin blaming Newton for his struggles in Carolina prior to being traded to the Bills last season.
In what could be seen as an underhanded knock on Newton, Benjamin took to Instagram after the game to praise Peterman.

It’s interesting he would have Peterman’s back after throwing his former quarterback under the bus. In any event, Benjamin seems to be happy where he is. That’s certainly not a bad thing.
