Following his arrest for domestic violence earlier this month, Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy claims he was actually the victim of violence from his former fiancee Tia Jones.
Former first-round pick Xavier Worthy had a rock-solid rookie season for the Chiefs in 2024. He reeled in 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns. However, it has been a rough last couple of months for the speedster.
First, he and his teammates were blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in February’s Super Bowl. Then, earlier this month he was arrested in Texas on a charge of assault of a family or house member by impeding the breathing or circulation.
At the time, he claimed that the dispute started over his demands that Tia Jones, his then-fiancee, leave their home. It led to a physical altercation between them where he said she scratched his face and damaged his property. While he did not file charges at the time, he has revealed more details on the accusations in a new lawsuit.

In court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Xavier Worthy claimed Jones fabricated the domestic violence story and he was actually the person assaulted in the dispute. Furthermore, she is trying to “extort a home, money, cars, and other valuables” out of him
In the filing that comes three weeks after their March 7 altercation, the Kansas City Chiefs pass-catcher claimed the incident began after he found out she had cheated on him in February. He alleges he asked her to leave their home. And even offered to foot the bill for an apartment while they transitioned out of being a couple. But she “became enraged and engaged in a series of abusive, extortive efforts.”

Jones is accused of damaging expensive electronics, including a PlayStation 5. Worthy also claims she attacked him. Scratching his face and pulling out parts of his hair. He also alleges that while incarcerated she “stole or destroyed over $150,000 worth of [his] personal property and cash from the residence.”
He is suing for $250,000 in damages.
