New to the Washington Redskins via a massive contract signed during free agency, cornerback Josh Norman appears poised to mind his Ps and Qs when it comes to his new quarterback Kirk Cousins.
It was just shy of a year ago that Norman got into it with his former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton when things got heated in training camp. Norman caught an interception from Newton and it turned into go time (watch here).
This time around with his new team, it appears the chemistry is different between Norman and Cousins. In fact all seems suspiciously peachy-keen considering Norman’s brief tenure in Washington. Norman had this to say about Cousins after spending time together in OTA’s.
“What can I say? Kirk and I are just a little bit different.”
“There are limits to my madness,” Norman said per Troy Machir of csnmidatlantic.com “But, umm… yeah I think it will be just a bit better,” Norman quipped, with the entire group of reporters and personnel laughing. Kirk’s my guy. He’s great.”
It doesn’t sound like Norman will be throwing any haymakers in the face of “his guy” in training camp this summer.
If Norman does have any grievances to air, he can save those for New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The two argued and got more than a bit physical on the field last December (watch here). Norman and OBJ will have the privilege of facing each other twice this fall. If Norman needs a punching bag, Beckham might be his guy.
Regarding Cousins, let’s hope “he likes that” when it comes to his safety on the field when throwing Norman’s direction this upcoming training camp.
