Josh Norman didn’t take kindly to being told he needed to pee in a cup following Washington’s 27-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
As passed along by Liz Clarke of the Washington Post, Norman got heated when he was informed he was selected for a random drug test after the game. After speaking with a Washington staff member for a few minutes, he spoke with media and expressed his dismay that he had to do a pee test after the game.
When asked about what was on his mind, Norman replied:
“Life. And how I feel [about] having this drug test right after the game. I don’t understand it, I really don’t … I don’t have anything left in the tank, yet they do this drug testing. It’s crazy. I don’t understand it.
“I don’t get it; I really don’t. I mean, shoot — can’t it wait until tomorrow?”
He then said it was the first time this year he was selected for a test but continued to reiterate his dismay that he had to do it right after such a tough loss.
“I don’t understand it; I really don’t,” he said. “What’s a day gonna do? 24 hours.”
Twenty-four hours can actually make a big difference in some cases.
But it’s understandable that Norman would be a bit chippy after watching his team fall to 0-2 to start the season.
Football players have to deal with stuff like this on a regular basis, though. Norman isn’t being singled out, and he’s not the only one who likely had to pee in a cup after a loss on Sunday.
