Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco might be returning to action sooner than expected, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Just spoke to John Harbaugh one on one. He says he expects Joe Flacco to be back soon, definitely during the preseason #Ravens

Originally, it was thought that Flacco could miss 3-6 weeks due to a back injury. Since the news of Flacco’s injury broke, the team explored the idea of signing free agent quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III.
Flacco’s current backup is Ryan Mallett who reportedly has been just awful in practices. The Ravens also signed CFL and Arena Football quarterback David Olson, only to release him on Monday.
Quarterback Josh Woodrum was the latest addition to the Ravens roster. The quarterback situation in Baltimore the past week has been somewhat chaotic to say the least. And the passing offense is suffering without Flacco.
Quick update from watching the Ravens offense. It's ugly, there isn't 1 quarterback who can throw downfield. Defense catching everything

The best-case scenario is that Flacco will be healthy enough to return soon and suit up in Week 1 as Harbaugh suggests.
Whether the Ravens decide to sign Kaepernick or RGIII for extra insurance remains to be seen.
