We don’t know if Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice actually plays fantasy football. However, his advice to pick Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson at No. 1 is solid.
Despite the fact that the league contains many pass-heavy NFL teams and that Peterson is coming off of a one-year suspension, Rice apparently has no reservations about endorsing the 30-year old running back in fantasy football.
And, while Rice would go for Peterson first, he is not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to a first pick in fantasy football. Some folks prefer to snag an elite wide receiver with their first overall pick, while others opt for a top quarterback.
Then, there’s the moral issue. While Peterson may be fresh for the picking, some people will purposely avoid picking him due to his nasty child abuse incident that involved his young son last year.
With that said, there’s little to no doubt that Peterson will be chosen somewhere in the first round in all fantasy football drafts—perhaps just not at No. 1.
