Jerry Kill will become the next head coach at New Mexico State, multiple outlets reported.

He is expected to be introduced Monday as the replacement for Doug Martin, whose contract is not being renewed. Kill, 60, will be reunited with New Mexico State athletic director Mario Moccia, with whom he worked at Southern Illinois when Kill coached there from 2001-07.

Martin leaves the Aggies with a 25-74 overall record in nine seasons. They finished 2-10 this season after beating UMass 44-27 on Saturday in the season finale.

Kill has an extensive coaching resume that also includes head coaching stints at Saginaw Valley State, Northern Illinois and Minnesota. Most recently, he served as interim coach at TCU for the final four games of the season after the departure of longtime coach Gary Patterson.

He was named the 2014 Big Ten Coach of the Year after leading Minnesota to the Citrus Bowl for its first New Year’s Day game since 1962. He led the Salukis to five straight NCAA playoff appearances at the FCS level.

Kill’s career has been interrupted by medical concerns. He suffers from epileptic seizures that led him to resign at Minnesota in 2015.
