Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin, who wears No. 7 and is currently under contract with the team, wasn’t too happy when news surfaced that the Rockets were using his jersey number as part of a pitch to lure New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.Â

It was a real slap in the face to a popular player that played an important role in Houston’s success last season. Lin averaged 12.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for the Rockets in 2013-2014.
If the Rockets do acquire Anthony or someone of his caliber, they will end up sending Lin packing in order to clear up enough cap space. The writing it literally on the wall here, which seems to show just how little the Rockets respect the guard.

When confronted about his original tweet, Lin responded…
@EmodMarco im entitled to standup for myself/say i felt disrespected as i did thru tweet but point is love unconditionally/as jesus loved me

No matter what happens in the Anthony sweepstakes, it’s highly likely that Lin will be calling a new city home in 2014-2015. This recent stunt by Houston pretty much assured that.
