Team USA has struggled this summer without the aid of top NBA stars, but James Harden hopes to remedy that next summer in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Tim MacMahon of ESPN shared that Harden said, “it’s one of my goals to represent this beautiful country” in the Olympics next summer.
The Houston Rockets star guard has one gold medal in his possession already stemming from his involvement in the United States men’s basketball team’s performance in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He also participated in the 2014 World Cup in Spain, helping the Americans win gold there as well.
Clearly, Team USA will have a better chance to win gold once more if Harden — one of the world’s best offensive players — is on the squad.
