In the midst of one of the most disappointing seasons in recent NFL history, there’s a chance the Jacksonville Jaguars will look to make some dramatic changes once the 2018 campaign concludes.

Jacksonville has lost five consecutive games and sits in last place in the AFC South. This comes one season after the Jags made a surprise appearance in the AFC Championship Game.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier in the day that the Jaguars will likely look to deal star cornerback Jalen Ramsey during the offseason.

“One league source said he ‘absolutely’ believes the Jaguars will entertain the idea of trading Ramsey, while an NFL general manager said he would not be surprised if that’s the route the Jaguars decide to pursue,” Schefter reported Sunday.

Ramsey sent out a cryptic tweet earlier in the week suggesting that he might not be long in Jacksonville. This comes after a drama-filled season in which he’s found himself at odds with the organization.

For the Jaguars part, they are officially denying that Ramsey will in fact be on the trade block during the spring.

It makes perfect sense that Jacksonville would push back against such a report. The team gains nothing from this being public consumption. Even if the team were to look to move him, having it known would limit the value Ramsey brings in a trade.

Ramsey, 24, was the No. 5 overall pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He earned All-Pro honors with the team last season, but has since regressed. If placed on the block, there would be a ton of interest in his services. That’s for sure.
