At 5-4 on the season and following a humiliating home loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts are in desperate need of a win in Week 11.
There could be good news on that front. After missing last week’s game with a sprained MCL in his left knee, quarterback Jacoby Brissett will likely start Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This is no small thing. Veteran Brian Hoyer stunk up the joint in the above-mentioned loss to Miami, throwing three interceptions and putting the ball on the ground once.
Brissett, 26, has been absolutely tremendous as Indy’s starting quarterback since Andrew Luck’s abrupt retirement this past preseason. He’s tossed 14 touchdowns and three interceptions en route to leading the Colts to a 5-3 record in eight starts.
Indianapolis heads into Sunday’s game against the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars one game behind the Houston Texans in the AFC South.
With Houston slated to play a tough Ravens team, the Colts have a real opportunity here. Though, a loss could also push the team into a last-place tie in the highly-competitive division.
