J.J. Watt Blasts Zach Mettenberger and his Selfies

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt doesn’t necessarily care for nonsenseĀ on or off the football field. He’s a serious guy with a job to do.

On the other hand, new Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger appears to be a goofy young kid off the field. Following the Texans 30-16 win over Mettenberger’s Titans, Watt had some words of wisdomĀ for the rookie quarterback (via ESPN.com).

Itā€™s just kind of a reminder, this is the National Football League, not high school. Welcome to the show…I just, I take my job very seriously. If I was a rookie quarterback being named the starter for the first time in the league, I feel like Iā€™d be a little bit more focused than that. Maybe heā€™ll learn from it, maybe not. We won the game, so thatā€™s all that matters.

Despite the loss, Mettenberger played pretty well in his first NFL start. He complated 27-of-41 passes for nearly 300 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

It still won’t be enough for the LSU product to overcome this selfie he took immediately after being named a starter this past week.

Let’s just hope Mettenberger focuses more on studying the playbook than this thing called Snapchat moving forward. Oh, and I guess it’s a positive he cut that 70’s porn-style facial hair thing.
