With their wins on Wednesday, the Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks bumped their winning streaks up to 14 and 13 games, respectively. Two teams carrying simultaneous winning streaks of that length isn’t just rare, it’s actually unprecedented.
1st time in MLB history that teams have simultaneous win streaks of 13 or more games (@Indians 14 games, @Dbacks 13 games).

Elias Sports Bureau responded, adding even more perspective on the simultaneous streaks.
This one shouldn't get lost in the crosstalk. First time in major-league history covers 142 seasons (2800+ "team-seasons"). #Indians #Dbacks https://t.co/mlspQ4wPwx

Both Cleveland and Arizona are peaking at the right time and have essentially locked up playoff spots with their long streaks. The Indians enter play on Thursday with an 11-game lead in the American League Central, while the Diamondbacks hold the top spot in the National League Wild Card race by 7.5 games.
Cleveland will next put its winning streak on the line on Thursday on the road against the Chicago White Sox. Arizona, meanwhile, will host the San Diego Padres on Friday.
