Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tony DeAngelo will be sidelined about a month with an injury to his midsection, coach Rod Brind’Amour said Thursday.
DeAngelo, 26, left Monday’s 4-3 overtime win at Philadelphia after just 6:48 of ice time.
He has scored nine goals and shares the team lead with 31 assists through 43 games this season, his first with Carolina.
DeAngelo has 146 points (33 goals, 113 assists) and 220 penalty minutes in 249 games with the Arizona Coyotes (2016-17), New York Rangers (2017-21) and Hurricanes. He was a first-round pick (19th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 NHL Draft.
