In ancient times, pirates would roam the seas and rob people of their valuables and dreams. Now the Pittsburgh Pirates roam the outfield at PNC Park and rob opponents of potential home runs.
In the seventh inning of Thursday’s game, Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Eduardo Escobar thought he had a home run and was ready to ride the wave of excitement. Instead, Pirates outfielder J.B. Shuck put his body on the line and committed a sensational act of thievery.
Shuck isn’t exactly known for his defensive skills in the outfield and wouldn’t even be playing if not for numerous injuries to Pittsburgh’s outfielders. However, the 31-year-old showed he is more than capable of flying high on the diamond to rob an opponent of a precious home run.
