Homer Simpson to be inducted into Baseball Hall of Fame

Homer Simpson will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame

That’s not a typo. We’re definitely not running a fake news story here. Homer Simpson of The Simpsons fame will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this upcoming Saturday.

Again, this isn’t a joke.

It’s a well-deserved honor for Mr. Simpson, who has shown for the past near three decades that he is an exceptional on-field talent. Here’s a guy that can hit a baseball while holding a Duff beer can. That’s some real talent here.

In announcing the decision to induct Homer, the Hall of Fame had this to say.

“In Cooperstown, we salute baseball’s greatest contributors, preserve its vast history and salute the cultural side of the sport.”

One has to wonder who will be presenting him at the ceremony. Mr. Burns could very well be a possibility. Him and the elder Simpson have a long-standing relationship during their time working together in Springfield.

In addition to the induction ceremony, there will be a ribbon cutting to introduce a new Simpsons-themed display in Cooperstown.

It remains to be seen if Wade Boggs and Ozzie Smith will be in attendance. They played a vital role in “Homer at Bat,” which might have set the tone for Simpson’s induction into the Hall of Fame.
