Heroic topped Natus Vincere to move to the grand final of Group B at the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023 on Sunday in Copenhagen.
NaVi dropped to the lower bracket final, where they will meet BIG, a 2-1 winner over Astralis in the lower bracket semifinal on Sunday. Heroic will play the winner of the NaVi-BIG clash, set for Tuesday, in the Group B final.
Heroic bested NaVi 16-9 on Mirage and 16-10 on Inferno. Casper “cadiaN” Moller led Heroic with 45 kills and a kills-to-deaths differential of plus-21. Martin “stavn” Lund had a plus-12 differential for the all-Danish team.
No NaVi players posted a positive kills-to-deaths differential.
Against BIG, Astralis took the early lead with a 16-8 victory on Anubis, but BIG triumphed in a hard-fought match after winning 16-10 on Ancient and 16-14 on Overpass.
Despite the victory, BIG had only one player with a positive differential, Karim “Krimbo” Moussa with a plus-six. By contrast, four Astralis players were on the plus side with Denmark’s Nicolai “device” Reedtz leading the way with plus-12.
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with a double-elimination group stage, with the field split into three groups of four teams.
All matches are best-of-three as winners of each group will advance straight to the Fall Final. The remaining teams advance to the seeded play-in stage.
Play continues Monday with two matches in Group C:
OG vs. G2 Esports (lower bracket semi)
FaZe Clan vs. Team Liquid (upper bracket final)
