Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry is unlikely to be with the team Thursday for the showdown with the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
According to multiple reports, Barry is working from home after testing positive for COVID-19.
On a short week, it’s unlikely Barry has ample time to clear NFL health and safety protocols to be present for Thursday’s game in Glendale, Ariz.
The Cardinals improved to 7-0 on Sunday, when the Packers notched their sixth straight victory to improve to 6-1.
Barry came under fire following the opening week loss to the New Orleans Saints, but said at the time “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
Since that 38-3 loss in Jacksonville, Fla., the Packers have shown gradual improvement and allowed 24 total points in the past two games. Green Bay’s goal-line stand in the third quarter helped cinch the Week 7 win over the Washington Football Team.
