Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors don’t find themselves in the best of spots right now. The four-time NBA champion saw him team humiliated at home Wednesday night by the New Orleans Pelicans by the score of 141-105.
This represented Golden State’s second consecutive home loss in which it has given up at least 133 points. From the sound of it, Curry is pretty much over the recent struggles. It led to him calling out general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the Dubs’ front office following Wednesday’s loss.
“It’s pretty evident that if things stay the same. That’s the definition of insanity, right? Do the same thing and expect the same result?”
Stephen Curry on whether the Warriors should make a trade
Golden State has indeed been involved in rumors ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline. That includes being linked to a certain two-time All-Star forward in the Eastern Conference.
The status quo certainly is not working. Less than 18 months after hoisting their last Larry O’Brien Trophy, the Warriors don’t even look like NBA Playoff contenders. They are currently 17-20 and sit as the 12th seed in the Western Conference. That’s not even good enough for a spot in the play-in tournament.

Will the Golden State Warriors be active ahead of NBA trade deadline?
Curry is not the only member of the Warriors’ organization that’s frustrated with what’s happening in San Francisco right now.
“I think we’ve just lost the spirit and the confidence that has to carry you,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after Wednesday’s loss.
Kerr also pointed to the Warriors being a “quiet” team with Draymond Green just now returning from his lengthy suspension and Chris Paul sidelined to injury.
The question is now obvious. Is Dunleavy Jr. going to do something in the next month or so that changes up the culture in San Francisco?

We’ve read rumors about Andrew Wiggins potentially being flipped. Though, it’s not yet known what type of return he’d bring. Wiggins’ struggles continued Wednesday night with the forward dropping just five points on 2-of-8 shooting while seeing the Dubs outscored by 29 points in his 23 minutes of action.
Green is also someone what has been bandied about. But it’s also clear that the Warriors are missing his vocal leadership right now. They are 7-7 since his suspension started.
The likelier scenario here is that a veteran contract (Wiggins) is moved as part of a broader package surrounding a youngster (Jonathan Kuminga).
There are options out there to the Warriors. They just need to show a willingness to be active.
