A right hamstring injury that forced New York Giants tight end Darren Waller to leave last Sunday’s game could keep the former Pro Bowl selection out for multiple weeks.
“Potentially. The amount of weeks I’m not that sure,” Waller told reporters Wednesday. “But it may take a little bit.”
Waller, 31, who missed eight games last season due to a hamstring injury, left Sunday’s 13-10 loss to the New York Jets after injuring his hamstring on his one catch.
Waller, the Giants’ leading receiver with 36 catches, 384 yards and a touchdown, didn’t practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s road matchup against his former team, the Las Vegas Raiders.
Waller entered the season opener with a minor left hamstring issue, then injured the tendon that attaches to his knee Oct. 22 against the Commanders.
He hasn’t played a full season since his 2020 Pro Bowl campaign.
