The New York Giants designated tight end Darren Waller for return from injured reserve, and he was set to return to practice Thursday.
Waller was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 4 with a hamstring injury sustained Oct. 29 in an overtime loss to the New York Jets.
The Giants (5-8) have won three straight games behind third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito.
At the time of his injury, Waller was the Giants’ leading receiver with 36 catches for 384 yards and a touchdown. Darius Slayton now leads the team with 449 receiving yards.
Waller, 31, has 334 receptions for 3,956 yards and 20 touchdowns in 82 games (60 starts) with the Ravens (2015-16), Raiders (2018-22) and Giants.
The Giants will meet the Saints (6-7) in New Orleans on Sunday before closing their season with two of three games against the Philadelphia Eagles.
