Giancarlo Stanton vents about Marlins dropping series to Phillies

Giancarlo Stanton Miami Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies, owners of MLB’s worst record, pounded the Miami Marlins 10-3 on Wednesday to secure a series win. After the game, Giancarlo Stanton was not happy.

Ordinarily, this wouldn’t be especially noteworthy. The Marlins are in the midst of a bad season and likely saw a home series against the Phillies as a chance to win at least two of three instead of dropping two of three. When things like that don’t work out, it’s not uncommon to hear a prominent player voice his disappointment.

What makes Stanton noteworthy is that he’s been discussed in recent trade rumors. Granted, there’s essentially nothing to indicate that Stanton will be on the move any time soon. Still, comments like this can’t quite be ignored with rumors abound.

At the very least, it’s a sign that Stanton is unhappy with the current situation. Until the situation either improves in Miami or he is moved, we should expect comments like this to be more frequent.
