WATCH: George Springer and Jose Altuve drill back-to-back HRs

After seeing their teammate take Corey Kluber deep to break up the no-hitter and shutout, Houston Astros outfielder George Springer and second baseman Jose Altuve have now joined the fun with back-to-back home runs.

In the fifth inning with Houston leading 2-0, Springer saw the pitch he wanted it and drilled it to left-center field for a lead-off home run to increase the Astros’ lead to 3-0.

Cleveland opted to keep Kluber in the game, and on the second pitch of the at-bat, Altuve drilled it to an almost identical spot to give the Astros a 4-0 lead thanks to back-to-back home runs.

A game that started off so well for Kluber spiraled out of control quickly. Cleveland’s ace went the entire season without allowing back-to-back home runs, but that impressive achievement came to an end today.

It also marks the first time in eight postseason appearances that Kluber has allowed three home runs in a single game.

Now staked to a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning with Justin Verlander dominating on the mound, Houston has forced Kluber out of the game.
