Gary Kubiak Wants the “Best Support System” for Peyton Manning

The Denver Broncos just named Gary Kubiak as the team’s head coach. Upon the official announcement, the first question that popped up was the future of quarterback Peyton Manning.

Kubiak may have addressed the questions, but his responses seemed pretty vague (via NFL.com).

Yes, we have talked. We talked a couple of days ago at length, talked a little bit last night via text and those type of things. Talked about a lot of stuff, but the bottom line: We’ve basically come to the conclusion — I know he’s got some things going on, family things right now, and obviously, I’ve got a lot going on here the next couple days — but we’re gonna get together and sit down.

That really doesn’t tell us a whole lot of anything when it comes to Manning’s future with the team. Kubiak will have to take this one slowly as conversations continue between Manning and the Broncos. Showing that he gets that Manning needs time, Kubiak continued…

The thing I wanna do is I wanna be the best support system I can be for Peyton. But yes, we’ve had some very good conversations, and we’ll have many more.

Kubiak’s coaching scheme of a ground-heavy attack may be a concern to Manning. However, Kubiak already showing the best of confidence in the future Hall of Famer, shared these awesome comments

Well, it’s easy to build a playbook for him. I mean, he’s been the master at it for many, many years, and you’re talking about a Hall of Fame player, Hall of Fame person.

While Kubiak and the Broncos organization wait to hear word from Manning about a potential return next season, it sure sound like the red carpet is being laid out for the future Hall of Famer.
