Midfielder Uri Rosell signed a contract through the 2023 season with the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the Galaxy, who begin their season on Saturday against Los Angeles FC at the Rose Bowl.
Rosell, 30, was waived by Sporting Kansas City on Jan. 20. He has participated in preseason camp with the Galaxy.
“Uri is a very intelligent and competitive defensive midfielder with MLS Cup experience,” Galaxy head coach and sporting director Greg Vanney said in a news release. “We look forward to Uri adding depth and leadership to our group.”
Rosell recorded one assist in 18 matches (13 starts) for Sporting KC last season.
He posted two goals and five assists in 125 MLS games (100 starts) with Sporting Kansas City (2012-14, 2022) and Orlando City SC (2018-21).
Rosell won the MLS Cup with Sporting Kansas City in 2013.
