It’s been since 2010 that now Philadelphia Eagles’ Darren Sproles shared the same playing field as San Diego Chargers’ tight end Antonio Gates. However they now share one thing.
Sproles was named NFC Player of the Week, while Gates earned the AFC honors after a dominating performance against the Seattle Seahawks.
At 31 years old, Sproles showed his new Eagles’ team what he was made of helping them clinch a tight win against the Indianapolis Colts. Achieving a career-high 152 yards with seven catches and a big rushing touchdown of 19 yards, Sproles earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

As for Gates, he proudly claims the AFC Offensive Player of the Week title. The 34-year-old tight end proved to anyone doubting his abilities that he is still playing strong, scoring three touchdowns, and tallying up 96 yards on seven catches on Sunday’s win over Seattle.

For those loyal fans, or for anyone who trusted either Sproles and Gates in their fantasy football lineups, you surely had an edge with these guys who scored far more than their projected points. Now, let’s see what they have to offer in Week 3 when Sproles faces Washington and Gates takes on the Buffalo Bills.
