Former Pro Bowler Vincent Jackson officially retires from the NFL

Having not played in the NFL since 2016, three-time Pro Bowl receiver Vincent Jackson had already seemingly given up on the idea of resuming his pro career.

He’s now made it official. A rep for the former San Diego Chargers lead pass catcher recently noted that Jackson is “very happily retired” and looks forward to continuing his community work in the Tampa Bay area.

The 35-year-old former Northern Colorado star last suited up for the Buccaneers back in 2016, recording just 15 receptions in five games before being lost for the season to injury.

Jackson’s best performance came back in 2012 when he recorded 72 receptions for 1,384 yards and eight touchdowns while leading the NFL with an average of 19.2 yards per catch.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Jackson crossed the 1,000-yard plateau six times over the course of his 12-year career.
