FlyQuest won their third straight match since taking their only loss in the group stage as Week 3 of the League Championship Series Spring Split drew to a close on Sunday.
FlyQuest (6-1) defeated Dignitas (2-5) and put more distance between themselves and their closest pursuers. NRG (4-3) lost to Immortals (3-4) to fall two games behind the leaders and into a three-way tie for second with 100 Thieves and Team Liquid.
The Thieves defeated Shopify Rebellion (2-5), while Liquid knocked off Cloud9 (3-4).
Playing on red, FlyQuest needed only 28 minutes to subdue Dignitas, which is tied for last in the standings. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen of Denmark led the winners with a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 9-0-2. Frank “Tomo” Lam of the U.S. registered a 2-3-2 ratio for Dignitas.
The Immortals, also playing on red, knocked off NRG in 34 minutes. Edward “Tactical” Ra of the U.S. paced the winners with a 9-1-4 ratio. Juan Arturo “Contractz” Garcia, also of the U.S., posted a 5-3-3 ratio for NRG.
Yet another team playing on red prevailed as the Thieves defeated Shopify Rebellion in 29 minutes. Kim “River” Dong-woo (7-3-9) of South Korea and Brandon “Meech” Choi (6-1-14) of Canada led the Thieves. Lee “Bugi” Seong-yeop of South Korea topped Shopify Rebellion at 7-4-4.
Liquid was the only team to win on blue Sunday, defeating Cloud9 in 29 minutes. Three players had two kills apiece for Liquid, while Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol of South Korea had the only kill for Cloud9.
