The Calgary Flames signed forward Walker Duehr to a two-year, $1.65 million contract extension on Monday.
As a rookie this season, Duehr, 25, collected 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in 27 games. He played in 10 of the team’s last 11 games.
Duehr’s first NHL goal on Jan. 12 against the host St. Louis Blues made him the first player born in South Dakota to score an NHL goal. The Sioux Falls native also played 41 games in 2022-23 for the Flames’ AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, and totaled 26 points (15 goals, 11 assists).
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Duehr made his NHL debut during the 2021-22 campaign, playing in one game and spending 8:47 on ice.
