Once the simultaneous Monday Night Football doubleheader ended, Week 14 of the NFL season officially ended, and NFL Week 15 officially began.
As the season marches toward the NFL playoffs, there are several marquee matchups on the NFL Week 15 slate, highlighted by the Sunday afternoon meeting between the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills and the Sunday night game between two AFC division leaders, the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Here’s an early preview of every NFL Week 15 matchup:
THURSDAY
Los Angeles Chargers (5-8) at Las Vegas Raiders (5-8), 8:15 p.m. ET
Stadium: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV | Network: Prime Video | Line: Raiders by 3
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Chargers | Easton Stick | 3-3 road | 16th | 29th | 11th (+3) |
Raiders | Aidan O’Connell | 4-3 home | 29th | 16th | t-31st (10) |
The Story: Justin Herbert is expected to have finger surgery Tuesday, making him unlikely to return for the season. That means Stick would make his first career start after seeing his first NFL action Sunday in relief of Herbert. Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is also unlikely to play after suffering a quad injury. And the Raiders need all the offensive help they can get after losing the first 3-0 game in the past 16 years.
SATURDAY
Minnesota Vikings (7-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-6), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH | Network: NFL Network | Line: Bengals by 3.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Vikings | Nick Mullens | 5-2 road | 12th | 10th | 23rd-t (-5) |
Bengals | Jake Browning | 4-3 home | 19th | 31st | 2nd-t (+10) |
The Story: Mullens replaced an ineffective Joshua Dobbs and led the Vikings to a 3-0 victory over the Raiders. But he has yet to be named the starter this week. Browning has stood tall in relief of franchise QB Joe Burrow for the Bengals, guiding them to victory the past two weeks and revitalizing their playoff hopes.
Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) at Indianapolis Colts (7-6), 4:30 p.m. ET
Stadium: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN | Network: NFL Network | Line: Colts by 2.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Steelers | Mitchell Trubisky | 3-2 road | 26th | 21st | 2nd-t (+10) |
Colts | Gardner Minshew | 2-4 home | 14th | 25th | 14th-t (+1) |
The Story: This is a NFL Week 15 battle between two teams trying to remain in the AFC playoff picture. The Steelers need more out of Trubisky and their struggling offense, which won’t have Kenny Pickett for at least another week and hasn’t scored as many as 20 points the past four weeks. The Colts miss running back Jonathan Taylor, who’s been out since Nov. 29 after having thumb surgery.
Denver Broncos (7-6) at Detroit Lions (9-4), 8:15 p.m. ET
Stadium: Ford Field, Detroit, MI | Network: NFL Network | Line: Lions by 5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Broncos | Russell Wilson | 3-3 road | 24th | 30th | 6th-t (+6) |
Lions | Jared Goff | 4-2 home | 3rd | 15th | 25th-t (-6) |
The Story: Going into NFL Week 15, these two teams are heading into different directions. The Broncos are among the NFL’s hottest teams, having won six of their past seven games, while the Lions have dropped two out of three while contending for the top spot in the NFC.
SUNDAY
Chicago Bears (5-8) at Cleveland Browns (8-5), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, OH | Network: FOX | Line: Browns by 3
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Bears | Justin Fields | 2-5 road | 21st | 12th | 18th-t (-1) |
Browns | Joe Flacco | 6-1 home | 19th | 1st | 27th (-7) |
The Story: Flacco, the fourth starting quarterback for Cleveland this season, resurrected the Browns’ offense against Jacksonville, and it remains to be seen if the 38-year-old can continue to recapture the old spark in NFL Week 15. Meanwhile, the Bears are coming off arguably their best performance of the season against Detroit.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7) at Green Bay Packers (6-7), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI | Network: CBS | Line: Packers by 3.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Buccaneers | Baker Mayfield | 3-4 road | 23rd | 27th | 8th-t (+6) |
Packers | Jordan Love | 4-2 home | 18th | 19th | 16th (0) |
The Story: The Packers saw their three-game win streak end Monday night against the Giants, and Love — who was starting to look comfortable in the Green Bay offense, wasn’t as sharp as he has been in recent weeks. On the other hand, Mayfield rallied the Bucs past Atlanta and Tampa Bay has won two straight as it sits in a three-way tie for the NFC South lead.
Houston Texans (7-6) at Tennessee Titans (5-8), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN | Network: CBS | Line: Titans by 2.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Texans | C.J. Stroud | 2-4 road | 9th | 17th | 5th (+8) |
Titans | Will Levis | 4-2 home | 25th | 20th | 26th (-6) |
The Story: The Texans are banged up, with Stroud in concussion protocol and receiver Nico Collins still a question mark with a calf injury. If Stroud is unable to go, Davis Mills will get the call. Levis led the Titans to an improbable victory over Miami on Monday night, rallying them back from a 14-point deficit in the final two minutes.
New York Jets (5-8) at Miami Dolphins (9-4), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL | Network: CBS | Line: Dolphins by 9
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Jets | Zach Wilson | 2-3 road | 32nd | 5th | 24th-t (-5) |
Dolphins | Tua Tagovailoa | 5-0 home | 1st | 9th | 20th (-2) |
The Story: The Dolphins will try to regroup after squandering a 14-point lead in the final minutes against Tennessee. Tyreek Hill injured his ankle and played a limited number of snaps. Wilson, who’d been benched for two games, is coming off the best game of his NFL career. The Jets will need more of the same to combat Miami’s high-flying offense.
Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) at New England Patriots (3-10), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA | Network: FOX | Line: Chiefs by 10
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Chiefs | Patrick Mahomes | 4-2 road | 7th | 6th | 28th-t (-7) |
Patriots | Bailey Zappe | 1-6 home | 28th | 8th | 30th (-9) |
The Story: The Chiefs have dropped three out of four, including Sunday’s loss to Buffalo in which a Kadarius Toney touchdown was negated due to his own offsides penalty. Mahomes and company will be intent on regaining their swagger. Meanwhile, Zappe had arguably his best game as a pro, sparking the Patriots’ dormant offense in a road win over Pittsburgh.
New York Giants (5-8) at New Orleans Saints (6-7), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, LA | Network: FOX | Line: Saints by 5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Giants | Tommy DeVito | 2-5 road | 31st | 26th | 7th-t (+6) |
Saints | Derek Carr | 3-3 home | 13th | 13th | 9th (+5) |
The Story: DeVito, an undrafted rookie free agent, has guided the Giants to three wins in his four starts, with his latest coming Monday night against Green Bay. As for New Orleans, Carr has been banged up, but he hasn’t let the concussions or other ailments deter him from helping the Saints put an end to their three-game skid.
Atlanta Falcons (6-7) at Carolina Panthers (1-12), 1 p.m. ET
Stadium: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC | Network: FOX | Line: Falcons by 3
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Falcons | Desmond Ridder | 2-4 road | 15th | 11th | 21st (-4) |
Panthers | Bryce Young | 1-4 home | 30th | 4th | 29th (-8) |
The Story: The Falcons are locked in a three-way battle for the NFC South lead and can’t afford another loss like last week’s against Tampa Bay. The Panthers are just looking for anything positive behind Young, their rookie quarterback who still has yet to throw for 300 yards in an NFL game.
Washington Commanders (4-9) at Los Angeles Rams (6-7), 4:05 p.m. ET
Stadium: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA | Network: CBS | Line: Rams by 7
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Commanders | Sam Howell | 3-4 road | 16th | 32nd | 32nd (-10) |
Rams | Matthew Stafford | 3-3 home | 10th | 18th | 19th (-1) |
The Story: The Rams saw their three-game win streak end, but it came on a rare walk-off punt return for a touchdown. Otherwise, they are playing at a high level entering this game against a Commanders team that has dropped four straight games.
San Francisco 49ers (10-3) at Arizona Cardinals (3-10), 4:05 p.m. ET
Stadium: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ | Network: CBS | Line: 49ers by 13.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
49ers | Brock Purdy | 5-2 road | 2nd | 7th | 1st (+11) |
Cardinals | Kyler Murray | 2-4 home | 26th | 23rd | 17th (0) |
The Story: This will be the first game for the 49ers as the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and with Brock Purdy playing an MVP level, they will be intent on maintaining their hold over the final four weeks. The Cardinals are coming off a bye week, but they went into the bye on a high after their first road win of the season over Pittsburgh.
Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at Buffalo Bills (7-6), 4:25 p.m. ET
Stadium: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY| Network: FOX | Line: Bills by 2.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Cowboys | Dak Prescott | 3-3 road | 4th | 3rd | 2nd-t (+10) |
Bills | Josh Allen | 5-2 home | 5th | 14th | 12th (+2) |
The Story: After trouncing Philadelphia on Sunday night, the Cowboys will try to continue their momentum on the road, where they’ve struggled this season. They are in the midst of a tough stretch that will show how ready they are to contend for a Super Bowl. The Bills are coming off a big road win at Kansas City and are looking to re-emerge as viable AFC contenders. The Allen-Prescott duel should be fun to watch.
Baltimore Ravens (10-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (8-5), 8:20 p.m. ET
Stadium: EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville, FL | Network: NBC | Line: Ravens by 3.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Ravens | Lamar Jackson | 5-1 road | 6th | 2nd | 10th (+4) |
Jaguars | Trevor Lawrence | 3-4 home | 11th | 24th | 12th (+2) |
The Story: Two division leaders clash in an AFC battle that we could also see again in a few weeks. Much like their star quarterback, Lawrence, who’s dealing with an ankle sprain, the Jaguars limp into the game on a two-game skid, while Jackson and the Ravens — on a three-game winning streak — look ready to prove they are the NFL’s best team.
MONDAY
Philadelphia Eagles (10-3) at Seattle Seahawks (6-7), 8:15 p.m. ET
Stadium: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL | Network: ABC/ESPN | Line: Eagles by 3.5
๏ปฟ | STARTING QB | HOME/ROAD | OFFENSE | DEFENSE | TO MARGIN |
Eagles | Jalen Hurts | 5-2 road | 8th | 22nd | 21st (-4) |
Seahawks | Geno Smith | 4-2 home | 20th | 28th | 15th (+1) |
The Story: Only two weeks ago, the Eagles were the NFL’s top team, but two straight losses to the 49ers and the Cowboys have knocked them out of the No. 1 seed in the NFC. They need a big rebound game against the Seahawks, who don’t know whether Geno Smith (groin) will be well enough to play. If not, Drew Lock will draw another start.
