FC Dallas midfielder Alan Velasco sustained a torn ACL in his left knee in Monday’s 2-0 playoff loss at Seattle.
Velasco also has a partial tear in his LCL and will undergo surgery in the near future, the team said Thursday.
He had to be subbed off in the 18th minute on Monday after colliding with Sounders defender Alex Roldan.
Velasco, 21, tallied four goals and four assists in 28 matches (27 starts) during the 2023 MLS regular season.
The Argentina native debuted with six goals and seven assists in 26 matches (23 starts) for FC Dallas in 2022.
Game 2 of the best-of-three MLS Western Conference first-round series is Saturday night in Frisco, Texas. If necessary, Game 3 will be in Seattle on Nov. 10.
