Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum will miss Wednesday’s game against the visiting Toronto Raptors due to a left hip contusion.
Tatum, who is averaging 30.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists, is expected to be back for Boston’s game on Friday, which is also against the Raptors.
On the second night of a back-to-back, the Celtics will also be without reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart (neck spasm), center Al Horford (low back stiffness) and reserve guard Payton Pritchard (left heel pain).
Derrick White and Malcolm Brogdon could see more time in the backcourt, while Grant Williams will likely get an increased role down low with Horford out.
Boston is 54-25 and sits in second place in the Eastern Conference, two games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers.
