Former NFL star running back Darren McFadden pleaded guilty to drunk driving stemming from an arrest last January when he fell asleep at the wheel in the drive-thru lane of a Whataburger in Texas.
TMZ Sports reported that McFadden had his resisting arrest charge (he fought with cops) dropped as part of his plea deal. He received four days in jail for his sentence, with one day already served.
Additionally, per TMZ Sports (via the court documents), McFadden had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and had to pay court fees and fines associated with this incident.
McFadden, 32, was at one time considered to be one of the NFL’s brightest young prospects. He came out of Arkansas in 2008 as the No. 4 overall pick of the then Oakland Raiders before spending 10 seasons in the NFL. Playing for the Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, McFadden finished his football career with 5,421 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns from scrimmage.
