Ben McAdoo, the former offensive coordinator and head coach for the New York Giants, interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive coordinator vacancy this week.
The news, reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, marks McAdoo’s second interview this offseason as the 42-year-old coach targets a return to the NFL.
McAdoo spent the last two seasons out of football after being fired by the Giants near the end of the 2017 season. Before his two seasons as New York’s head coach, he served as the team’s offensive coordinator from 2014-’15 after working on Mike McCarthy’s staff with the Green Bay Packers (2006-’13).
Jacksonville parted ways with John DeFilippo, creating a vacancy at offensive coordinator as the organization looks to help quarterback Gardner Minshew more next season. Given McAdoo’s success as a coordinator and his background with quarterbacks, he could prove to be a quality candidate for the Jaguars.
