Veteran golfer Ernie Els has won four major titles throughout his long and distinguished career in the PGA.
Though, the 46-year-old striker has not necessarily found himself atop the rankings in recent seasons. He’s won a grand total of one tourney since 2010, that coming in the 2012 Open Championship.
Attempting to get back on track, Els is among the big names taking part in the pageantry of the Masters in Augusta this week.
Unfortunately for the Johannesburg native, it didn’t get off to too great of a start:
Not a good start for Ernie Els. The 4-time major winner opens Masters with sextuple bogey (10) on Par 4 1st hole. pic.twitter.com/nsdPSZvloW

Yes, he posted a 10 in a par four. That’s akin to a drunk Charles Barkley attempting to hit the green. It’s pretty bad, ladies and gents.
That’s a tad unfortunate.
Even more so, Els accomplished this feat on the opening hole of the first round. Even making the cut would take some elite-level play from here on out.
