New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady puts up with more than his fair share of name-calling and finger-pointing from opponents and naysayers.
For what reason?
Country singer Jessie James Decker, the wife of New York Jets receiver Eric Decker, weighed in as to why Brady receives so much chiding, per Francesca Bacardi of E! Online.
“I think he gets picked on because he’s hot. If it was someone else they probably wouldn’t be picking on him that hard.”
There we have it. Brady’s smashing good looks — and probably the fact he is married to one of the most gorgeous supermodels in the world — is why others pick on him. It sounds like a classic case of jealousy, at least according to Mrs. Decker.
Brady, who has been accused of being a cheat after the Deflategate saga, is still getting called names this week. Denver Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson recently called Brady a whiner. Paul Klee of the Boston Herald notes fellow D-end Antonio Smith said Brady is a crybaby.
“That would be an accurate statement. I’ve never seen any quarterback look to the referee right after he gets sacked more than Brady. Every time he gets sacked he looks at the ref like, ‘You see him sack me?”
But if Mrs. Decker’s theory is actually true, Jackson and Smith are lashing out because Brady is just too darn good-looking.
Mr. Decker steered clear of discussing Brady’s looks and said it was because the Patriots quarterback gets more calls than anyone else while acknowledging most offensive players “cry for calls.”
Good looks aside, we’ll see who has the last comment when Brady faces off against Jackson and Smith in Sunday’s AFC Championship.
