Eric Berry missed fifth straight practice due to heel injury

Eric Berry

Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro safety Eric Berry was once again not able to practice on Tuesday, marking the fifth straight practice he’s missed due to what the team has described as a heel injury.

Berry is attempting to make yet another comeback after missing all but one game last year due to an Achilles injury, suffered in Week 1 of the 2017 season.

Head coach Andy Reid addressed his star safety’s condition after practice, noting the Chiefs are “being cautious with it. Trying to be smart.”

One of the favorites to win his second Comeback Player of the Year award, Berry has proven himself as one of the league’s most resilient players in recent years. He’s still just 29 years old, and last year he was outstanding for the Chiefs, starting all 16 games while racking up 77 tackles, four interceptions and two touchdowns.
