Although only one day of play is complete, Entity stand as the lone unbeaten team after the $500,000 Dota Pro Circuit Lima Major got underway on Wednesday with 16 group-play games in the Peruvian capital.

Playing in Group B, Entity opened the day with a 2-0 win over Geek Slate, then did the same to Knights. Against Geek Slate, Entity won the first map in 44 minutes, then took the second in 1 hour, 3 minutes. Entity had an easier go against Knights, winning in 29 and 24 minutes.

The Lima Major is the first major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 season, and the first DPC major ever held in South America. The 18-team event consists of four teams each from Western Europe and China, three each from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe, and two each from North America and South America.

A pair of nine-team groups will conduct round-robin play through Sunday, with all matches best-of-two. The top four teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, and the fifth- and sixth-place teams in each group move on to the lower bracket.

The playoffs (double-elimination, best-of-three) begin Tuesday, with the Grand Final taking place March 5. The Grand Final will be the only best-of-five match of the tournament. The winner will take home $200,000 and 400 DPC points. Second is worth $100,000 and 350 points.

On Wednesday, a quintet of teams finished with one win and one draw: Gaimin Gladiators, Talon Esports and Tundra Esports in Group A, and Shopify Rebellion and Team Liquid in Group B.

Team Aster in Group B were the lone team to earn two draws on the day, while Geek Slate (Group B), Team Spirit (Group A) and TSM (Group A) each grabbed a win and a loss.

Day 2 is Thursday, with eight more matches scheduled for each group.
