DUX, Pistons gain splits to start NBA 2K League’s Slam Open

DUX Infinitos, the NBA 2K League’s reigning 3v3 champions, opened their season by splitting two matches on Thursday in Slam Open group play.

After producing a 3-2 win over 76ers GC, DUX fell 3-2 to Heat Check Gaming.

Last year’s 3v3 losing finalist, Pistons Gaming, also started their campaign with a win and a loss. They downed Magic Gaming 3-1 but fell by the same score to Hornets Venom GT.

The Hornets, Lakers Gaming and the Gen.G Tigers all registered two victories on Thursday.

In addition to the win over the Pistons, the Hornets edged NBL Oz Gaming 3-2. The Lakers Gaming squeezed past Jazz Gaming 3-2 before beating Warriors Gaming Squad 3-1. The Tigers posted 3-2 wins over both the Magic and NBL.

In other matches, NetsGC nipped Cavs Legion GC 3-2, Hawks Talon GC swept Knicks Gaming 3-0, Celtics Crossover Gaming downed the Heat 3-1, the Warriors walloped Kings Guard Gaming 3-0, Wizards District Gaming topped the Celtics 3-2, and Blazer5 Gaming bested the Jazz 3-0.

Group play for the Slam Open continues Friday with 16 matches and runs through Monday. Bracket play for the event is scheduled for March 7-8 and March 13-16.

The NBA 2K League 3v3 season continues with the Switch Open (March 20-April 6) and the Steal Open (April 19-20). The playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington.
