Drew Brees injured his thumb badly on Sunday as the New Orleans Saints took on the Los Angeles Rams, and the quarterback has concerns it’s a “significant” injury.
Josina Anderson of ESPN spoke with Brees, who told her he’s visiting a specialist in Los Angeles Sunday. He also shared that he hurt his thumb on a throw to Jared Cook when he hit Aaron Donald.
The veteran couldn’t even grip a football in the second half, so the fear of this being a significant injury is certainly well founded.
With Brees out for the foreseeable future, the Saints will have to rely on Teddy Bridgewater, who had a rough afternoon against the Rams Sunday.
