DraftKings is pulling all betting options on sporting events and leagues in Russia and Belarus in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“DraftKings has no direct commercial relationship with any Russian or Belarusian league, team or sports organization,” the sportsbook said in a statement Thursday. “Our customer experience team is prepared to answer questions from any customers impacted by this change.”
FanDuel also took down betting on Russia-based events Thursday afternoon, according to The Action Network.
The move primarily affects the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Russia’s top league in the sport.
Sporting events scheduled to take place in Russia — including the UEFA Champions League Final, the ATP and WTA’s Kremlin Cup and the F1 Russian Grand Prix — all have been either relocated or canceled as the world responds to the move into Ukraine. FIFA also barred Russia from the World Cup later this year, though the Russian Football Union announced Thursday that it will appeal the to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the FIFA and UEFA bans on its national and club teams.
