Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders announced the Detroit Lions 2014 draft pick, tight end Eric Ebron from University of North Carolina. Yes, please give Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford more weapons capable of catching his passes this year. However, we should be warned, as first-round tight ends sometimes go bust.
Tight ends in the first round are almost never busts but they're very rarely worth their high pick. #EricEbron

Ebron joins fellow tight ends Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria, which shouldn’t hurt the Detroit Lions offense one bit since Stafford throws for nearly 5,000 yards every year. Wide receiver Golden Tate was also a recent addition to the Lions. All the work in 2014 won’t fall on poor Calvin Johnson’s shoulders.
You’ve gotta laugh at this though, regarding Ebron.
RT @TomOatesWSJ: Eric Ebron's girlfriend said "yes" this afternoon. Will she reconsider now that he was drafted by Detroit?

You also have to wonder if the Lions ignored other positions of need when they selected Ebron last night. Only time will tell.
