Deshaun Watson and his longtime girlfriend are taking their relationship to the next level.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback – who inked a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract with the team after arriving via trade in the 2021 offseason – proposed to his girlfriend, 29-year-old Jilly Anais. His fiancee is a singer, actress and author of a cookbook. Anais also made an appearance on the runway at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show during Miami Swim Week on June 1, 2024.
The pair shared the news through a joint Instagram post on Sunday. “Mrs. Watson Loading…” the post’s caption reads.
Watson’s NFL career has been mired in controversy. In 2021, when he was a member of the Houston Texans, accusations of sexual misconduct came to light from roughly two dozen massage therapists. More accusations and off-field drama have plagued him since, and mounting injuries have caused the quarterback to miss significant time.
Watson and Anais have been romantically linked since July 2019, when the pair met in Los Angeles. His NFL future could be in question for the 2025 campaign, though: Cleveland recently acquired quarterback Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles and hosted free agent signal-caller Russell Wilson last week.
