David Johnson has sights set on 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in 2018

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson is one of the top NFL players at any position

The Arizona Cardinals will get running back David Johnson back after he played in only one game in 2017. Looking to make a huge comeback, Johnson has set some lofty goals upon returning to the game.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Johnson has his sights set on a 1,000-yard rushing season as well as topping 1,000 yards in receiving.

Depending on how much Johnson is fed the ball, this could actually happen. In 2016, Johnson rushed for 1,239 yards and fell just shy of 1,000 receiving yards when he recorded 879. It was no surprise that Johnson led the league with 2,118 total yards as well as 20 touchdowns. This came as a result of Johnson averaging 23.3 touches per game that year.

We expect quarterback Sam Bradford to keep Johnson heavily involved on all aspects on offense this year. Unless, of course, Josh Rosen ends up stealing the job away from him this summer.

At the end of the season, Johnson might just attain his goal. A total of 2,000-plus yards sounds pretty amazing as well as all of the touchdowns that come along the way.
