Two-time Pro Bowler Tre’Davious White revealed on Sunday that he and the rest of the Buffalo Bills received an apology text from recovering teammate Damar Hamlin before their win to end the season.

There are few people around the country who don’t know about the scary events that occurred during the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals game last week. Defensive back Damar Hamlin collapsing on the field and needing to be resuscitated was one of the most shocking moments the NFL has ever had on the field.

In the days since Bills players have been on an emotional roller coaster as they were forced to confront the inherent dangers of their line of work and hope their teammate could return to a normal way of life. As of this weekend, all signs point to a very positive outcome for Damar Hamlin.

Nevertheless, it has been a tough week for the team, and it seems that Hamlin actually reached out to his teammates in the middle of the night Saturday to apologize for the trauma caused by the freak accident he was involved in.

Buffalo Bills sent an early morning apology from Damar Hamlin

In spite of an unusual week, the Buffalo Bills were able to persevere and score a dominant win at home over the New England Patriots on Sunday. Following the game, players spoke about the win and the role Hamlin played in the lead-up.

While explaining to the media how great of a person Hamlin is, two-time Pro Bowler Tre’Davious White revealed that the 24-year-old texted his teammates Saturday morning to shockingly apologize for everything they went through before the game.

“Damar is one of the most resilient, honest, and pure people that I’ve met. It shows what type of person he is. We got a text from Damar yesterday morning around 2:31 in the morning. For him to text us, and what he said was, ‘I’m thinking about y’all. I’m sorry that I did that to y’all.’ For him to check on us when he’s the person going through what he’s going through, just shows what kind of person he is.

“Hopefully, we can get him back. I just want to hug the s*** out of him. … I can’t wait to hear his voice and be able to touch him and hug the s** out of him. … We miss you man. Get back to us. It’s been a hard week.”
