Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is not in the greatest of moods after seeing his team be eliminated from playoff contention earlier this week. He’s also feeling a ton of pressure with the former World Series champ’s future in the Windy City up in the air.
It looks like the media took the brunt of Maddon’s frustration prior to Chicago’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday
Asked specifically about the questionable lineup he’s going to throw out there this weekend against the Cardinals, Maddon gave an expletive-filled response.
Well, tell us how you really feel.
For the sake of openness, here’s the Cubs’ actual lineup Thursday evening against the Pirates.
If we were to compare to Chicago’s opening day lineup, only Happ, Bote and Almora Jr. remain.
People will question the Cubs’ lineup in their season-ending weekend series against the Cardinals. That’s primarily because St. Louis is still vying with the Milwaukee Brewers for the NL Central crown.
If given their druthers, we’re pretty sure Cubs fans would prefer Milwaukee taking their division over the hated Cards.
