There has been a ton of scuttlebutt that the Chicago Cubs may trade star third baseman Kris Bryant this offseason, but manager David Ross expects him to be there come Opening Day.
Speaking with media on Thursday, Ross said, “I think fans should expect” Bryant to be with the Cubs this season.
Ross went on to praise the level of talent he has to work with in Chicago, noting, “There’s no ceiling for this team. I really think this team can win the World Series.” So, it sounds like the team is trying to keep the gang together and pursue that goal.
Bryant had a solid, if not great 2019 campaign for the Cubs batting .282 with 31 home runs and 77 RBI.
